Herding Dogs

They are primarily used to protect farms. They known to be very intelligent and can easily be trained. Herding Dogs include Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepherd, Belgian Sheepdog, Bearded Collie, Belgian Malinois, and German Shepherd etc.

The dogs of the Herding Group do just that, herd livestock. This group can be broken down into sheep herders like shepherds and collies and cattle herders such as bouviers and corgis. They love to work, exercise and play. Extremely agile and easy to train, these dogs also tend to be fabulous family pets. If you own a herding dog then luckily they tend to use the least amount of energy of all working dogs. They only need to work for short periods of time and the only times that they need to work excessively are when they are trying to round up stray animals.
