F2 Bactrian Camels

This breed is result of cross breeding between Bactrian and a F1 hybrid. These hybrids are found mostly in Kazakhstan. The F2 Hybrid Bactrian camel is another species of the camel family that results from the breeding of the Dromedary and the Bactrian species but unlike the F1 hybrid it is three quarters Bactrian and a quarter Dromedaries. They have features that closely resemble the Bactrian camel in that they can walk over ice, mud, snow, and even slippery surfaces. It will probably be safe to say that it is in the true sense an all round camel that has the ability to handle steep rocky trails and even flat surfaces. In Kazakhstan, female Bactrian-Dromedary hybrids may be crossed back to a Bactrian resulting in a three-quarter bred Bactrian (also known as F2 Bactrian) used as a riding camel. These have 75% Bactrian genes and have 2 humps, but are less robust in type than purebred Bactrian camels. They are generally faster than Bactrian and stronger than Dromedaries.
